About me
Stemming from my background in psychology, sociology, and behavioral health, I have always been drawn to paths that allow me to work with people & come up with interventions to the complex problems facing them. My background in research, spanning across human behavior, psychology, food, and nutrition, has equipped me with a wide variety of research methods and the ability to see problems from multiple angles.
Working in operations allowed me to develop the skill to keep on asking "why?" to get to the root problem. This approach led me to a deeper understanding of systems and how the answer may not always be apparent.
When thinking of strategic approaches, an understanding in policies, regulation, and economics is a critical foundation if you are looking to come up with potential solutions that will actually work, which is why I am seeking an MPA along with my Master of Design! Successful design is grounded in the context in which we currently are in order to envision a better future.
I am driven to use my expansive background and developing design research, visual communication, and systems-thinking skills to tackle complex problems facing society today. I believe design has the capability to reshape how people interact with the systems and environments they're a part of for the better.
